"Local People Taking Care of Their Marine Wildlife"
Sea Trust Community Interest Company is based in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, in West Wales.
We operate on a not for profit basis and all kinds of marine life are surveyed, monitored and recorded by Sea Trust volunteers in Pembrokeshire - Common, Bottlenose, and Risso’s Dolphins, Harbour Porpoises, Whales, Seals, Sharks, Fish, Jelly Fish, Turtles and Plankton. This work has been helped by the support of Countryside Council for Wales, Stena Line and Environment Wales.
Currently we are conducting a number of cetacean surveys in the seas off the coast of Pembrokeshire. Shore based Porpoise surveys are also undertaken from Strumble Head.
An important part of Sea Trust’s work is to interest the local community, particularly school children, in the marine environment and there are regular activities to achieve this.
